What is Assumption of Risk?

Posted on

The baseball game is ending, a bunch of people are walking to cars, and you know that the person that’s driving the car that you’re getting into has had too much to drink. What does this mean for your rights if that person causes a crash? Well, if you knew, there’s a thing in Wisconsin called Assumption of Risk.

You knew that that person was driving. Impaired, and should not have been driving, and you got into the car, you assumed the risk. Simply put, what you need to do is make sure that the person that’s driving the car is sober, is not driving drunk. Or, you can call Uber, call Lyft, or ask someone else to drive.
