Three mistakes. If you’re off-roading in Wisconsin, having the wrong gear, just simply not being prepared. The second mistake is not having an emergency plan. If you break down, what are you going to do? Do you have a phone that’s going to work? Do you have other items? Hook rope, things like that. So you can get your vehicle out of the way.
The third and most important, because this is going to be a cause of why you break down is not knowing your terrain. If you’re going over water, what’s underneath? Is there a log underneath there? What’s the depth of your water? All those things are important, but probably again, the most important is knowing your terrain, knowing the depth of the water, what’s there and what’s beneath.
Good luck.
