Stay safe at Elm Grove Pond: Keep dogs on short leashes & use outer paths

Posted on

There have been multiple dog attacks at the Elm Grove Pond. If you know Elm Grove, there’s the pool, the pond, and this big walkway all around the actual pond itself. And there are three separate incidences where dogs had attacked people and had puncture wounds or really injured them. My understanding is they found all the different dogs that were involved in these attacks, but this is a great reminder.

When this happens, make sure you contact the police, you save any evidence, you get your phone and get pictures of whatever you can, so you can have a claim. In Elm Grove, it’s important to know that when you’re walking a dog, you can only walk a dog around the outward perimeter, or the perimeter that’s not in the inside, on the outside of the actual pond.

And the second thing you have to be aware of is the length of your leash, it has to be six feet or less. So please be safe when you’re walking your dogs. Hopefully your dogs are socialized, so they get along with others, so we won’t have incidences just like this.
