If you’re in a car crash and you have to wait on the side of the road, what’s most important, number one, is being safe, you know, make sure that you are okay, that you’re out of harm’s way. So if you can pull over or pull over in Wisconsin, we have areas like crash areas, if you can get to one of those, great.
If you have flares, number two, if you have flares or cones, put them out. That’s important. In the back of my car, I also have a yellow vest with like the reflective strips that you can wear. That’s pretty helpful too, just so people know you’re out there because you want to make sure that you’re as visible as possible.
So people, if they are distracted and they look up, they understand, okay, I got to be aware of what’s going on. And then number three, get your phone out and take video of what the cars look like, gather that evidence right away.
