How long does it take to see your compensation? Well once you settle a case, usually the insurance company needs to process that settlement. And man, that can be as fast as a few weeks. It can be as slow as a month. I mean, I’ve seen situations where, you know, We get a check as soon as a couple days. I don’t know how it happens based on, you know, with the delays and weekends and if a check’s coming from Kansas City or if an American family is sending it from Nebraska or wherever, but I have sometimes seen where they will, where the insurance company will cut a check one day and we’ll see it just a couple days later, but that’s few and far between.
I mean, on average, once we settle a case, we confirm all the details. Usually once we have everything signed and we’ve firmed up the details of a settlement, we’ll see a check within two to three weeks and we can disperse those funds to our clients. At that time, we have to get the check, put it into our trust account, hold it until it clears, and then we can sign a check.
To our clients. So on average, what three weeks a month, the best case scenario, a few days, worst case scenario, a month or so.
