Don’t pinch people on St. Patrick’s Day!

Posted on

As a personal injury attorney, I’m telling you, I’m asking you, don’t go about pinching people on St. Patrick’s Day. I’m not sure where this came from, but I can tell you, in Wisconsin, there’s a jury instruction that talks about this. If you are causing physical pain and injury to somebody else, because you contact them, you pinch them, you are, committing a battery, and it’s a criminal offense.

Jury instruction 1220 is pretty clear about this, that you’re committing a battery. Don’t do it. You can tell people, hey, are you wearing green, not wearing green, happy St. Patrick’s Day, things like that, but don’t go around pinching.
