A crosswalk is a safety zone. If you don’t know that, that is negligence. So don’t forget, especially when lights are getting kind of turned off, sooner these days, you know, the days are getting shorter. We have, the time of day and with the leaves falling off the trees and leaves going on the road, you might not see the actual crosswalk, but as dusk is getting closer and closer to rush hour and you have kids walking around or adults walking around and the leaves are covering up, crosswalks, just ’cause you didn’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there.
If a pedestrian’s in a crosswalk, that’s a safety zone. If a car hits a pedestrian in a crosswalk, in my opinion, the car is responsible. So just be aware and really extra aware nowadays as we get to that time of year where. You’re gonna have a lot more people on the road because it’s rush hour. As the days get shorter, in that dusk kind of time, you need to watch out just more and more carefully.
Please be safe. Turn your lights on, daytime running lights on all the time, and watch out for pedestrians.
