Back-to-School Driving Safety: Tips for New Drivers and Parents

New semester, new drivers, same old dangers. Hey, as school starts, we have a lot more people that are on the roads. I think you probably noticed this. I certainly did. And a lot of those people are young drivers who are driving for the first time and trying to get to school or trying to come home from school.

And, we gotta be patient with them, right? Because they are. Probably a little bit nervous. But please be careful when you’re driving out there new drivers. The rules apply to you. Let’s try to be kind as older drivers and more experienced drivers to somebody who is driving for the first time, maybe in some pretty bad traffic.

But please understand, this is the time of the year where we see a uptick in, in fender benders, from people coming in, going from schools because rush hour traffic and younger drivers might get nervous. They’re not quite sure what to do, and they don’t know which lane they’re supposed to be in, they go in the wrong lane and have to make a turn at the last second, and a crash occurs. That may have just happened recently with somebody who called us after that kind of wreck. So we’re speaking from experience. We’ve helped people who are in these situations, let’s just. Stay safe, drive a little bit slower, prepare, know where you’re supposed to go before you go and, give us a call if you ever need us.
