What Documents Should I Keep After a Car Accident?

Every document is evidence. Keep ’em. Keep all the documents, medical records. If you get a receipt from going to the pharmacy, those long, 15 mile long receipts that Walgreens or CVS gives you. Keep those, copays, deductibles. If you have a prescription for additional care, for example, if your MD gives you a prescription for physical therapy, keep that time off work slips, keep those.

You’d be shocked at how many times a doctor gives a time off work slip and doesn’t put it in the medical records. They have one document and they give it to the patient, to our client, and it’s gone because they show it to the their employer and the employer doesn’t keep it. So if you can make a copy of that, take a picture of it, that’s always the best evidence.

Hey, if you have any questions, give us a call. Evidence is king. Save documents.
